I awoke one morning before dawn. Death and trauma weighed heavily on a heart that had been broken even as I was born in the Fall of 1942. Conceived and born in Love, this made no sense.

I'm not Melody, and I'm not her mom. I was never abused physically or sexually -- not even by my husband. I was never forced to bear and give birth to children. I was raised to give my care and my love voluntarily. I chose to adopt when I was ready and had a home to give.
